Apple Developer Support Bug Screener and Developer Liaison - Assisted the Developer Support team by processing new and previously filed bugs relaying relevant information in and out of the organization; responded to incoming emails and sent customized, external filtered correspondence to developers when additional information was requested or feedback was provided to a developer. Worked to reduce the main bug and email queues while tracking and processing new batch emails when new products were GM'd or new seeds became available. Produced a custom text expansion group set with customized text shortcuts for the daily tasks the team was responsible for. Recorded process notes and helped with the training of new contractors in Developer Support. Attended meetings and followed up on issues filed by our team and other Apple employees and discussed issues that impacted the group.

Customer Seeding Bug Screener - Assisted the Customer seeding team with analysis, parsing and escalation of incoming Sonar issues from customer seed team members in the field using Bug Bunker on top of Sonar and Radar. Relayed outgoing communications to customers from engineering via Bug Bunker, Radar and back through Sonar to customer seed team members. Participated in the preparation of software DVDs for semi-monthly packouts to customer seeds. Assisted with the printing and labeling of envelopes for the customer seed mailings. Collected and tallied frequently observed issues for a weekly Hot Issues summary report. Monitored customer seed team member discussion threads on the Apple Seed Team discussion boards. Aggregate Knowledge, Inc., San Mateo, CA, Nov. 2006 - Jan. 2009
Quality Assurance Engineer - Planned, wrote and tested monthly releases and deployed daily builds for the front end administration UI that surfaces the reporting and customer configuration data associated with the Aggregate Knowledge Discovery Window service and associated API. Filed, tracked and resolved over 1200 bugs in monthly releases that provided support and new business direction for a new online space called Discovery. Filed daily status reports for the offshore development team. Created sample SQL data for reporting views in the administration application's reporting section prior to the data being populated in production. Investigated, modified and verified configuration files, MySQL migration scripts and reported bugs when appropriate to resolve issues with HQL, iBatis and database inconsistencies.

Quality Assurance Engineer - Discussed, planned and executed test procedures against all new features in small releases and contributed guidance and product flow feedback for larger releases that encompassed complete site overhauls on several occasions. Filed over 500 concise, "recipe"-like bugs with step by step instructions for reproduction and verification. Quality Assurance Engineer - Assured quality for all Topica products including the free Topica mailing list service web site and the paid Topica Email Publisher web application. Also assisted with Quality Assurance of Topica's high-end, third-party e-mail delivery services. Created smoke test documents for "quick look" basic site functionality tests after application design change pushes were completed. 24/7 "on-call" status for all issues related to Quality Assurance and site changes. Created a basic set of critical test items and related scripts for the implementation of a test automation suite for all relevant Topica products.

Opcode Systems, Inc., Palo Alto, CA, 1990 - 1996 and from 1997 - 1999
Title 1: Product Manager - Managed all development phases of Opcode’s Galaxy and Galaxy Plus Editors packages. Worked closely with engineers to design, develop, implement, test and release Opcode’s Galaxy and Galaxy Plus Editors products. Served as Opcode’s evangelist to third-party manufacturers coordinating synthesizer acquisitions and loan tracking for Galaxy’s plug-in librarian and editor modules. Assisted in design and implementation of the Galaxy area on Opcode’s web site including layout and design of the product market research CGI script and web site FAQ items.

Title 2: Lead Quality Assurance Engineer - Integrated and maintained new quality assurance procedures, databases and test scripts. Managed computer and operating system integration for the Galaxy product line on the Macintosh platform. Implemented, tested and assisted in design of all new Galaxy and Galaxy Plus Editors librarian and editor modules. Developed an in-depth knowledge of all major synthesizer manufacturer’s products including Alesis, DigiTech, E-mu, Ensoniq, Kawai, Korg, Kurzweil, Lexicon, Roland, Sony, Waldorf, and Yamaha synths, effects and MIDI devices.
Oversight and testing for the Studio Vision 4.51 release incorporating a list of features collected while working at Opcode Systems. The majority of the features listed in that document were implemented in the 4.51 version of Studio Vision.

Founded Belief Systems Recordings. Recorded, mastered and produced songs under the pseudonym Robbers of Antiquity on the Nocturnal EP and as Darin Marshall on the Belief Systems Recordings Swivel EP. Designed artwork, wrote, engineered and produced tracks for four of the six Belief Systems releases. Completed all the ancillary tasks associated with the release of four of the six Belief Systems 12-inch vinyl recordings. Recorded the song "Prolix" as IBID in 2001. In 2003, produced and released the Transistor Abuse CD and 12-inch vinyl recording with remixes by Volsoc and DiViD [Vic "Chandra" Shukla and Darin Marshall are DiViD].
